About TypeTak

TypeTak is an AI writing editor where you write alongside the agent. It's for novels and web novels. It brings your manuscript, your worldbuilding, and the agent into one workspace, so a long story doesn't lose track of its world.

The stories I never finished

I write fiction as a hobby. I've started two stories so far. Both began as short stories and grew into novels as I kept writing, and I haven't finished either one.

The longer a story runs, the more you've already decided. A character's age and the way they talk, where a village sits, a hint you dropped early on. Plenty of tools give you a story bible for all of that, but filling it in is still your job. Every hour spent organizing is an hour not spent writing.

That's why the World sits at the center of TypeTak. The World is your own lore dictionary that doubles as a graph. As you write or talk with the agent, lore that isn't in the World yet collects in the World backlog. Press Organize, and the agent files it into the World. When it drafts, the agent looks things up in that same World.

And now I'm writing those stories again in TypeTak.

What I hold to

  • Your writing doesn't train AI — TypeTak never uses your writing to train AI.
  • You can write without AI — You can create and edit everything in your World and manuscripts yourself. The agent only steps in when you call it.
  • You decide what changes — Line edits and feedback arrive as suggestions, and you apply only the ones you want. You also choose whether the agent shows you a change first or makes it right away.
  • You choose what to show — When you share a manuscript or your World, you decide what's visible and keep unrevealed lore hidden.
  • You can take it with you — Export manuscripts, documents, and the World as files. A whole manuscript comes out as a single PDF, DOCX, TXT, or EPUB file.

Made by one person

TypeTak is made by one person. I do the planning, the design, the development, and the support email.

So I'm always busy. But when a writer tells me something is getting in the way, I fix it right away. There's nobody in the middle I have to convince.

Feature requests and bug reports come straight to me, and I reply myself. Write to team@typetak.com.
