Public space

This is where you make your Space public. Turn it on in the Public group of Settings > Space, choose how much of your manuscript and World to show, and send the link.

Public space settings

  1. Turn on Public space. A new Space starts with it off.
  2. Right below, in Default manuscript sharing and Default world sharing, choose who can see the whole manuscript and the whole World. Both start on Not shared, so change at least one for anything to show.
  3. Copy your Space's link with Copy link and send it.

To make one page or node differ, pick for it separately under Share › in its ⋯. All sharing settings in that menu brings you straight back to this settings screen.

What visitors see first

At the top is your name and the Space's name, and below it the manuscripts you've shared are laid out as cards under Works. Pressing a card opens that manuscript's cover. If you've shared your World, its graph and type cards follow underneath. Visitors read without signing in and can't change anything. Visit your own Space while signed in and a This is your space bar shows at the top, for you only, with exactly what visitors see below it.

When Public space is off

The default sharing for your manuscript and World goes back to Not shared, and you can't change it until you turn the switch back on. People who use your Space's link no longer see its first screen. Anything you shared on its own, such as a single page or node, stays shared. To stop sharing everything, set those to Not shared as well.

FAQ

Why can't people get in with a link I sent?

That manuscript or World isn't shared right now. Public space may be off, the page or node may be Not shared, or it may have been deleted. Visit the address yourself while signed in, and Change settings in the bar at the top takes you straight to the settings.

What happens to links I've already sent when I stop sharing?

Set something back to Not shared and the links you've sent no longer show it. Share it again and the same link works again.
