Signing in & your account
You make a TypeTak account with a username and password, or with a Google account. Your Spaces, manuscripts, and World all belong to that account.
Signing up and signing in
In Create account, enter your email, a username, and a password, then open the link in the email TypeTak sends you to finish. A username is 4–20 letters and numbers; a password is 8–20 characters and includes a number and a special character.
If you have a Google account, come straight in with Sign in with Google. The first sign-in also creates your TypeTak account.
If you forget your username or password
Enter the email you registered with in Forgot username? on the sign-in screen, and your username arrives by email. Enter your username in Forgot password?, and a link to set a new password arrives by email.
Changing your name and password
Change the name shown for you on screen under Display name in Settings > Account (up to 30 characters). It is separate from the username you sign in with.
To change your password while signed in, press Send reset email next to Reset password in the same place, and a link to set a new one arrives by email. That row appears only for accounts created with an email.
Deleting and restoring your account
Press Delete next to Delete account in Settings > Account and confirm, and your account is deleted.
- Cancel a paid subscription first. If you have already cancelled and paid time is left, the message tells you the date from which you can delete.
- Deleting signs you out. For the next 30 days the account can be restored: sign in the usual way, with the same username and password or the same Google account. A window titled This account was deleted shows the date you deleted it. Press Restore and you are back in, with your Spaces, manuscripts, World, and history as you left them. Nothing else is asked.
- After 30 days the account and all its data are erased for good and can no longer be restored.
