Choosing a model

The same request comes back with different prose and a different manner depending on which AI answers it. The agent can work with GPT, Gemini, or Claude, so try them and keep the one that suits your writing.

Picking the chat model

  1. Press Agent settings, the slider button in the input box.
  2. Under Model, choose GPT, Gemini, or Claude.

All three are available on every plan. The model you pick here is the default not only for chat but also for drafting, Revision, canvas, and agent documents.

Setting a model per feature

On the Max plan, you can split things up — a quick model for chatting, and the one whose prose you like for drafting.

  1. Open Settings > Detailed models.
  2. Turn on the Detailed models switch.
  3. On the row for the feature you want to change, pick a model.
  4. Set that row's Reasoning level: Low, Medium, High, Very high, or Max.

A row with no model set runs on the model TypeTak picked for that feature.

Agent documents is the model that writes Guidance, Writing Style, World Organizing Rules, and World Setting; World section writing is the model Organize World uses to write a node's section text.

  • If the chat model can't answer, the next model in TypeTak's order takes over.
  • Under Models by feature the rows are Agent, Agent documents, World section writing, Revision, Canvas, Feedback, Proofreading, Enhance, and Rephrase; under Models by draft stage are Draft, Self-evaluation, and Final.
  • While a row has no model set, its Reasoning level stays locked.
  • The Detailed models switch is in both Agent settings and Settings > Detailed models, and one switch turns the whole set on or off. While it's off, the rows aren't applied.
  • While the switch is on and any row has its own model, Model in Agent settings is grayed out and can't be changed.
  • On other plans the rows are visible but locked, with a note that they can be changed on the Max plan.
