Export

Save your Manuscript and Documents as files. The World, the World Setting, the Writing Style, Guidance and the World Organizing Rules export from their own ⋯ menus.

Exporting pages

Press All at the bottom of the Manuscript or Documents tab in the sidebar to open every page as one list. Check the pages to export there, and press Export in the bar that appears to export them together. A whole manuscript goes out the same way, and progress is shown as it runs.

• One file on: Choose PDF, DOCX, TXT, or EPUB. Page names adds each page's name to the document, and Page break between pages starts each page on a new sheet.
• One file off: PDF, DOCX, or TXT, one file per page, delivered as a zip whose name starts with TypeTak_. Each file is named after its page as the list shows it — the chapter number and the title — so no two names collide and every page you selected arrives as its own file.

To export just the page you have open, choose Export › from the editor's More menu at the top, pick a Format, and press Export. That saves it as PDF, DOCX, or TXT; EPUB is only for pages selected in All and merged into one file.

Exporting the World

Press ⋯ on a node and choose Export › to save that node as one file. It is the same menu wherever you open it: at the top of the node's screen, on its row in the sidebar's World area, on its table row, or on its card — a Board type's cards included. Press ⋯ on a node type and choose Export › to save every node of that type. A node type's ⋯ is on its row in the sidebar, on its card or row on the World screen, and at the top of a Graph type's screen.

• Format: PDF, HTML, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown. Each node is written under its name, with its properties and sections.
• Exporting a node type also offers One file. Off, which is where it starts, each node becomes its own file and they arrive together as a zip; on, every node goes into one file, and in PDF and DOCX each node starts on a new sheet.
• Files from the World are named TypeTak_ followed by the node's or the node type's name — TypeTak_Characters.zip, for example.

Exporting Writing Style, Guidance, World Setting and World Organizing Rules

Each one saves as a single TXT or Markdown file.

• Writing Style: Press ⋯ on its row in the sidebar or beside its title, then choose Export ›.
• Guidance, World Setting, and World Organizing Rules: Press ⋯ beside the title (at the top of the screen on a phone), then choose Export ›. Guidance opened from Home has no ⋯; open it inside a Space to export it.

The file is named TypeTak_ followed by its name — TypeTak_Guidance.md, for example.

Which format is best for very long content?

For very long content, use DOCX or TXT instead of PDF.
