Sharing the manuscript
Let people read your whole manuscript like a book, or share a few chapters first. A shared manuscript is read without any editing tools.
Sharing the whole manuscript
In the Public group of Settings > Space, set Default manuscript sharing to Everyone or Link only, and every page of your manuscript follows it. Public space has to be on to share the whole manuscript. (Public space) If you have several manuscripts and want to show only one, keep the whole manuscript shared and set the chapters of the others to Not shared.
Sharing a page or chapter
Press ⋯ next to a page and pick for that page alone under Share ›. For a chapter with several pages, press ⋯ next to the chapter and pick under Share › for the whole chapter; pages you add to that chapter later follow it too. Send a shared page with Copy link in the same menu. If the whole manuscript isn't shared, a page shared on its own can be seen only through its link, without the cover or table of contents.
Sharing a document by link
For a page in the Documents tab, turn on Share by link under Share ›, and only people with the link can read it. Use it to send that one page, whether or not your Space is public. Canvas pages can't be shared.
What visitors see in a manuscript
A shared manuscript starts on its cover: your name, the manuscript's name, the number of chapters, and a Read from the first chapter button, with the table of contents below. Pressing a page opens it for reading, and the Next card at the end of the text carries on to the next one. Comments and Revision marks in the text aren't shown, and Proofreading suggestions show as the original sentences. Visitors can pick the screen color with the Background button at the top.
FAQ
Does sharing one page share the whole manuscript?
No. Only that page is shared; everything else follows the setting for the whole manuscript.
