Outline

Before a draft is written, the outline tool (page_outline) builds a draft plan, puts it up as a card, and the agent waits for approval. This tool only plans — it writes not one word of prose.

Two things on the card are editable.

• Outline: One item is one stretch of the draft. The first line of an item is what happens in that stretch; the bullets under it are how to write it.
• Length: The target length. When the request does not set one, it follows the reference length written into that manuscript's Writing Style.

If the plan is not right, ask for changes — the agent does not draw up a second plan, it edits the same card. Approve it once edited and the draft is written exactly as approved.

Drafting

The drafting subagent (page_writer) takes over the approved plan and writes it. It follows the Writing Style assigned to that manuscript and the length target.

The finished draft is saved into the editor automatically. Check where it went on the result card, and move it somewhere else before you confirm. Replacing existing body text takes a press of Overwrite, and the earlier version is kept in History.

FAQ

Can I use a different Writing Style for this one draft?

Yes. Instead of the style assigned to the manuscript, name a Writing Style for this draft alone, and name other pages to draw on at the same time.
