Writing Style

Tone and texture differ from manuscript to manuscript, so a Writing Style is assigned per manuscript. The agent's tools follow that style when they edit or write a page — drafting in Outline & drafting and Editing in Subagent tools both read the style assigned to the manuscript and write to it.

• A manuscript has one Writing Style, and one style can be shared by several manuscripts.
• Each Writing Style has a preset — Novel, Web novel, or unset — that sets the built-in craft rules it starts from.
• The agent can read the style out of your own writing and write it for you. (See Subagent tools.)

Creating a new Writing Style

There are three places to create one.

• While creating a manuscript: Assign it in the Writing Style field of the manuscript creation window.
• From the sidebar: Create a new one with Add Writing Style in the Writing Style area.
• While swapping: Choose Blank Style Document in the swap menu below and a new style is created, assigned to that manuscript, and opened for editing straight away.

Swapping in a different style

Open Swap for a different style in the ⋯ menu on the Writing Style row in the sidebar and the style list unfolds. Pick an existing style to assign, or make a new one with Blank Style Document to replace it. One style can be shared by several manuscripts, so a whole series can be held to a single style.

Can Documents follow a Writing Style too?

Yes. Name the Writing Style to follow when you have the agent write a document, and it writes in that style.
