Core agent tools
The agent does more than talk — it has tools that read and write the contents of your Space directly. For the jobs it hands to a dedicated agent (drafting, Editing, Proofreading, World organizing, system documents) see Subagent tools; for the approval that stands in front of anything that changes your work, see Approval permission.
Reading and searching
The agent searches and reads the Manuscript, Documents, and the World. It finds the pages and nodes it needs to answer a question or write a passage, so even in a long work you never attach context by hand.
Direct editing
Edits that need no subagent — World structure such as node types, properties, and sections; the structure of pages, folders, manuscripts, and chapters; the Writing Style — the agent handles inside its own turn.
It pulls the editing syntax it needs as it goes with the syntax lookup tool (syntax_retrieve).
When Edit permission is set to "Ask for approval", a card appears first showing exactly what changes, and approving applies it as shown.
Web search
When it needs current information or research, the agent searches the web, shows what it found and the Sources it used, and answers from that.
FAQ
How do I check what the agent referred to?
Source chips are attached to replies and to the settings filed in the World. Press a chip to jump to the manuscript page or conversation behind it.
