History & Restore

After rounds of edits and organizing, there comes a moment when you wonder “what was this originally?” History keeps every change in the World item by item — whether the agent organized it or you edited it — so you can roll back to the point you want at any time.

Say you open the history of Vincent's “Occupation” property. Each row shows when, by whom, and where the value changed, and you can roll back to the point any row marks.

Viewing an item's history

  1. Hover over a property or section and open its history from the menu that appears. You can also press the clock at the end of a property's name to open its history.
  2. Each history row reads when → who · where → what value.

Rolling back to that point

  1. Press a history row. The change view opens at once.
  2. Step through changes with ‹ › on the bar above to find the point you want.
  3. Press Restore to this point to roll back to that point. Close with .

A section's history shows changes to its progression alongside the text, and rolling back brings both back together.

Bringing back a deleted slot

Deleting a slot removes it from every node of that type. Bring a deleted slot back from the Archive, and each node's value in it returns as well.

To remove the value from just one node, keep the slot and clear that value.

  • On a phone, the history list opens as a sheet.

FAQ

How can I tell whether I wrote a piece of lore or the agent did?

Open that item's history. A line you edited yourself carries the avatar of whoever made the edit. A line the agent wrote has no avatar; instead it carries the number of the manuscript page it came from ( 07) or a document or conversation icon.

Can I bring back a deleted node or node type?

Yes. Deleted nodes and node types collect in the World group of the Archive. Select an item and press Restore to bring it back. To roll a node that still exists back to an earlier point, use the history described above.
