View modes

Change how the screen is laid out to suit the way you are working. Some switch on right on the page, others are adjusted in Settings.

Split view: Opens two panels side by side so you see another page, World node, table, canvas, or memo alongside. To open an item straight into one side, choose Open on the left or Open on the right from its more menu (⋯) in the sidebar.
Hide toolbar: A switch in the editor toolbar's more menu (⋯). It hides the toolbar above the editor; move the mouse to the top edge of the page and the toolbar shows again, with the same switch there to turn it off. The bar under the editor is hidden with it. Touch screens don't offer it.

On screens larger than a phone, the bar under the editor holds two toggles, with the character count beside them.

Mobile view / Wide view: Switches the page between full width — good for tables and for seeing more text at once — and a narrow mobile width that previews how the text reads on a phone. In split view, each panel keeps its own width. The same toggle on a draft's result card in chat previews that draft at mobile width. Pressing it there changes only that preview; the editor's width stays as it is.
Typewriter mode: Pins the line with the cursor at the vertical center of the screen. The same switch is in Settings > Editor.

Hide toolbar (Settings > Editor): The same switch as in the editor toolbar's more menu — hides the toolbar above the editor until you move the mouse to the top edge of the page.
Subtle marking color for proofreading & revision (Settings > Editor): Shows Proofreading and Revision marks in a quiet gray instead of their usual color.
Font size (Settings > Display): Small, Medium, Large, or Larger, for the whole screen.
