Organize World
Organize World finds lore in your manuscript and conversations that the World doesn't have yet and tells you about it, and files it into the World when you press Organize. Lore you work out in conversation and manuscripts you write or import are organized together, and the agent reads the organized lore the next time it writes a draft.
Lore you come up with in conversation
As you work out your world in chat, things get settled. Say “the hero grew up in a seaside village”, and after replying the agent collects it as one of the Items settled in conversation. If you change your mind later, the collected item is edited or dropped too. You don't have to copy anything over: one Organize World puts the collected items into the World.
Chapters you write or import
When you write chapters in a manuscript or bring one in with Import, those chapters count as chapters the World hasn't read yet. Drafts the agent writes for you count too. Organize World reads them and brings the characters, places, and lore in them into the World. Only the manuscript you're working on counts, so to organize another one, pick it in the manuscript chip of the chat input.
Seeing what goes in from the World backlog
Manuscript pages and items settled in conversation that aren't in the World yet wait in the World backlog. When something is waiting, World backlog appears below the chat input, with the number of unread pages beside a book icon and the number of items settled in conversation beside a speech-bubble icon.
- Press Organize and the World backlog panel opens in place of the chat input, showing what will go into the World first. The counts of pages and items sit at the top, and below them the chapters it will read appear next to the manuscript name, grouped like “01~03, 05”. Unfold Items settled in conversation to see the items one per line with their numbers, and drop an item you don't want with the ✕ on its line.
- When you're ready, press Organize at the bottom of the panel. The chapters and the items are organized together in one go. To close the panel without organizing, press Cancel.
- If you don't want to organize now, close it with the ✕ at the end of World backlog. If items have been collected, though, that ✕ deletes them all, so leave it open if you want to keep them. Closed while only chapters are waiting, it comes back after a day, or once a page you create afterwards passes 2,000 characters.
- If you don't want World backlog to appear at all, turn off World backlog reminders in Settings > AI. Chapters and items keep piling up while it's off, and what shows while organizing is running or awaiting approval still appears.
Organizing in the background
Pressing Organize leaves the screen where you were writing. Organizing runs on its own in a new Organize World conversation in your conversation list, and Running Organize World appears below the chat input with a percentage.
- To see how it's going, press View progress. Watch it in that conversation, then press Go back to return to the one you were in.
- While it fills in content after changing node types, it shows Writing content.
- The first time a manuscript is organized, the agent reads the manuscript's writing and writes its Writing Style first, then organizes the World.
- If organizing is already running, it doesn't start another; it shows the one in progress.
Checking what was filed
- With Edit permission on Ask first, Awaiting approval and Review appear below the chat input when organizing is done. Press Review to approve or reject the cards in that conversation. A run that changes node types writes the content after you approve the type changes, so you approve the content once more.
- On Proceed automatically, Applied and View result appear when it's done, and stay until you open that conversation or close them with ✕.
- What holds for the whole work rather than for any one character or place — its era, its stage, its social order — is filed into the World Setting.
- Every piece of lore it files carries the manuscript passage or conversation behind it as a Source. You can set what gets organized, and how, in the World Organizing Rules.
Organizing from chat
- You don't have to wait for the World backlog: say “put everything we've settled so far into the World”. The reply carries an Organize World card with an Organize button; press it to organize the pending chapters and items together, and the result appears right in that conversation. A card that also organizes the World backlog carries (World backlog too) after its title, and what you asked for opens from What you asked for.
- To put in just one piece of lore, say something like “the hero grew up in a seaside village. Put that in the World.” Press Update on the World card in the reply, and just that goes in.
- Ask to rename a node or change a node type or slot, and it's carried out without a button and stays in the chat as an Edit world card. On Ask first, you approve it on that card first.
Chapters edited after organizing
Edit a chapter that's already been organized, and If the story has changed, tell the agent in the chat appears below the chat input, while the World backlog panel shows There are edits with the edited chapter numbers. Organize World doesn't read the edited chapter again — only the writer knows whether it was a typo fix or a change to the story. If the story changed, tell the agent in chat what changed. Once you've checked, close it with ✕. It stays closed until you edit those chapters again.
FAQ
Does Organize World run on its own?
No. Collecting what needs organizing and telling you about it happens on its own; putting it into the World happens when you press Organize or a button in chat. Even on Proceed automatically, only the approval after you press is skipped; nothing presses for you.
