Edit permission

Talk with the agent for a while and things worth keeping in your work, like how characters are related or how the prose should sound, keep coming up. Edit permission decides whether you check those changes before the agent writes them in, or let it write them in right away.

Say you tell it mid-conversation, “Raon is Vincent's older brother. Add that to the World.” The agent sets out to write that into the World. Whether it shows you a card first or writes it straight in and then tells you depends on Edit permission.

Choosing your edit permission

  1. Press Agent settings in the chat input box.
  2. Under Edit permission, choose Ask first or Proceed automatically.

On Ask first, a change to your work appears as a card first, and you check it and approve it. On Proceed automatically, the agent makes the change right away, then shows in the chat what it did.

Handing the agent something to organize

The agent files the characters, lore, and style settled in conversation into the World, the World Setting, the Writing Style, Guidance, and the World Organizing Rules. Filing starts when you press one of the buttons below or ask for it in chat.

  • When the agent finds something worth organizing, it can offer an Update button in its reply. Press it and it writes what you just discussed into the World Setting, the Writing Style, Guidance, and the World Organizing Rules.
  • Manuscript pages and things settled in conversation that aren't in the World yet wait in the World backlog below the chat input, with their count next to an icon. Press Organize to check what will go in, then organize it. (See Organize World.)

Names and lore that first show up in a draft the agent wrote also reach the World through the World backlog, without you spelling them out.

Checking an approval card

On Ask first, what the agent is about to do shows up first as a card in the conversation. A card recording Raon and Vincent's relationship lists each node that changes on its own row.

  1. Check what will change on the card.
  2. If there's a node type or node row you don't want this time, press Exclude on it. The row dims, and Include brings it back.
  3. If something needs fixing, say so in the chat. The agent rewrites that card.
  4. When you're happy with it, approve it.

The agent still knows what was on the rows you left out, so “add just the age from what we left out” works.

Finding a waiting card

When a card is waiting for approval, the approval strip shows its icon and title, with +N when more cards are waiting behind it. If the card is off screen, press View changes to scroll to it.

Undoing an approved change

An approved change still leaves a record behind, so you can undo it.

  • Pages: The version from just before an AI draft or a Revision was applied is saved in History automatically. Compare it and restore it, or ask in chat — “undo what you just wrote”.
  • World: Hover over the property or section that changed, open that item's history, and roll back to the point you want. (World History & Restore)
  • Deleted pages and folders: Bring them back from the Archive.
  • What shows up as a card: World nodes and node types, the World Setting, the Writing Style, Guidance, the World Organizing Rules, Create page, Continue page, Overwrite page, changes that organize pages and folders, and Restore to an earlier version.
  • A World organizing run with nothing new to write into the World leaves no approval card.
  • On a draft plan card, press Write as is and the agent starts writing. (Outline & drafting)
  • Proofreading / Revision proposals are applied in the editor. Open the page with Open at the end of the line to review them, or reject them all.

FAQ

Does the agent do anything without asking, even when it's set to ask for approval?

Yes. It draws on a Canvas right away, without an approval card. When it redraws an existing canvas, the cards it changed go to the Archive. Revision and Proofreading land in the editor as suggestions, and only the ones you apply go into the manuscript. (Agent tools)

Why was a card withdrawn when I didn't reject it?

Withdrawn means the agent took that card back. When you ask for changes to a card, the agent posts a new card with those changes and the old card gets this mark. Approve the new card.
