Split view
Switch pages mid-draft to check a character's age or a line from an earlier chapter, and when you come back you have to find your place, and your train of thought, all over again. Split view opens two panes side by side, so you keep the World or an earlier chapter in view and look things up without leaving the spot you're writing in.
Say you're writing chapter 04 with Vincent's node open on the right: his age and personality are a glance away while you keep writing.
Opening two panes
Press Split view above the editor. Two panes open side by side.
Opening something straight into a pane
- In the sidebar, press ⋯ on the item you want beside you (Vincent's node).
- Choose Open on the left or Open on the right. It opens straight into that pane.
You can also set two boards side by side to compare them.
Setting each pane its own way
Each pane keeps its own view. The left one can run chapters 03 and 04 together in Continuous view while the right one keeps Vincent's node as it is.
- What can sit beside your writing: pages, World nodes, node tables, boards, canvases, and memos.
- Page width (Mobile view or Wide view) is set per pane (Screen settings).
- Continuous view is turned on and off per pane too.
- A pane with a board open remembers that board.
