Editor utilities
As a chapter grows, you end up moving up and down the page to fix things, and the gaps between paragraphs start to drift. The editor opens any page, however long, as one continuous document, and evens out paragraph spacing across the whole page with a single number.
Working through a long page
However long a page gets, it opens as one continuous document. Scroll straight through it, and select and edit across the whole of it.
To read and edit a manuscript's pages in order in one scroll, turn on Continuous view (Continuous view).
Handing one passage to the agent
Sometimes you want the agent on one part of a long page, not the whole thing. Say you only want another look at the scene where Vincent leaves the village.
- Drag to select that passage.
- Press Ask in the cursor menu. The passage is quoted into the chat.
- Ask about the quoted passage — “Tighten just this scene,” for example.
Evening out paragraph spacing
- Choose Adjust paragraph spacing in the editor's more menu.
- Set the number of line breaks between paragraphs. The window opens with the page's current number, so you only change the number.
- Press Apply. Every paragraph gap on the page is set to match.
- Find and replace is covered in Find and replace, searching the whole Space in Search, and character and word counts in Word count and character count.
